About EmilyEmily Conley

When I started blogging in 2009, I recorded my adventures on a mission trip as a way to keep up with my family and friends.  After that summer ended, I discovered it could be so much more: a place to connect with people around the world, learn, grow, make a difference, and find my voice. After almost a decade of blogging, I still love it!

A bit about me: I’m continuing to learn and grow in my faith journey. I am a small-town girl, one of six home schooled kids, who married her best friend at the age of 19 and moved across the country to the Phoenix Valley a week after our honeymoon. In July 2015, Edison, our little man, joined us. In August of 2018, we made another cross country move after eight years in Arizona, moving to upstate New York. One month later, Bennett came along

After graduating from Arizona State, I’ve undertaken a few endeavors into entrepreneur-ism with a marriage website, an embroidery and quilt pattern company, and a watercolor stationery shop, Bleu Feather Paper Co. I’ve worked full time at a non-profit as a social content editor, managing a creative services team, and the editor for a non-profit’s quarterly magazine while freelance writing on the side. In February of 2018, I left the non-profit to pursue freelance writing. Working for non-profits as a freelancer has confirmed what I’ve always known: each one of us holds the power to make a difference, and really change the world.

A few of my favorite things are peace and quiet (I’m an INTJ), decorating and remodeling our home, and crafting.  The ocean is my favorite place, blue is my favorite color, and I’m addicted to stripes. On a free Saturday morning, you’ll find me at a thrift store, or browsing the bookstore downtown. Connect with me on Instagram where I share more of our adventures as a family finding the beauty in the everyday of small town life in upstate New York.
