Happy Friday! Here are a few of my finds and favorites for the month of March:
1. Epsom Salt Baths
While browsing one of my favorite aisles in Target, I decided to treat myself to a package of Epsom salts. I’d never tried an Epsom salt bath, but as it turns out, it’s great for pregnancy, because it helps relieve sore muscles and swollen feet. And it’s so inexpensive too, compared to bath bombs. And the lavender one in the bowl above I bought smells amazing! Now I want to get the pink Himalayan salt bath too!
2. Gluten-Free Pop Tarts
I found this recipe on Pinterest, and since Brian has been on a pop tart kick lately, I didn’t want to be left out anymore. But here’s what my Pinterest goal was:
And my reality:
Although they did look a little better once they had frosting and sprinkles.
They turned out HUGE, because the gluten-free dough was so soft and crumbly, rolling out out thinner or cutting into smaller pieces just made it disintegrate into nothing. So, they may have turned out more like gluten-free hand-pies, but either way, they were delicious!
3. Rose Gold Eye-Shadow Pallet
I asked for this ELF eyeshadow pallet for Christmas (shown above with the bath salts), which my sister-in-law sweetly gave to me, and I put it in my make up drawer and forgot it was there. Fail. Until this month! I rediscovered it, and now I’m having fun putting together shimmery combinations. I’m also heavily relying on YouTube make up tutorials – otherwise I wouldn’t know where to start! The pinks and browns are perfect for spring and summer.
4. A Man Called Ove
A Man Called Ove was the final book I read with my book club, although technically, I listened to the audio version on the way to and from work. It was fantastic. I cried at least four times – it was sweet, and funny, and sad, and beautiful – just so good.
5. My New Vacuum
After almost eight years of service, we decided our $50 Walmart vacuum had lived it’s life. Brian happily did the research and picked out this one, and stated that he would DEFINITELY do all the vacuuming if we bought this awesome vacuum. Who could resist an offer like that? Not this pregnant lady!
Sadly, he’s only used it once, the day we bought it. I may have to nicely remind him of the terms under which it was purchased. It really is pretty awesome – although shocking how much dirt it sucked up from floors we thought we’d just cleaned, so consider yourself warned. You may discover your house is not as clean as you thought.
6. Being done with the first trimester!
Is that the “Hallelujah Chorus” I hear? Yes, yes it is. I can barely believe we’re one third of the way there – and I try not to panic whenever I think of that. But I’m happy to not feel as nauseous almost all the time, and I no longer need a mid-afternoon nap every day. Only, maybe, once a week.
Or whenever it’s time to vacuum.
