But what about Brian’s job situation? That’s a lot more complicated.
Before the end by *tomsumartin |
But it wasn’t that simple. For a couple years the idea of attending seminary has been tucked away in the back of Brian’s mind. This situation brought it out to the foreground, so not only were we considering engineering jobs, but also seminaries across the country.

After almost three weeks, guess how many we’ve applied to so far? One.

God’s ways are certainly not mine right now, but I can be certain of this:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
If you think of it, please remember us in your prayers; even though life seems to be back to normal, we still need God’s direction. And, we’re a little worse for wear after all the stress of the last two and a half weeks. I need your prayer, so that I can be supportive of Brian and accept that this is where God has us right now.
I know this was a very long post, and it really didn’t resolve in a very uplifting way, but thanks for sticking with me to the end! I appreciate your kind words and thoughts so much!

It almost seems like it's easier to see purpose in a grander tragedy than in the daily stresses of life. You know those verses in Romans 8 that promise that nothing will separate us from God's love? The verses list a bunch of scary things but also life. When I first read them years ago, I remember thinking, "How can life separate us from God's love?" . . . Then life went to work on me! Life can really wear you down. So learning to triumph in the type of stresses you've encountered is a big deal! Praise the Lord for bringing you through stronger!

Praying for peace and discernment for both you and Bryan as you figure out God's purpose for your life together.
B/c i understand that a spouse's job/going to seminary is really undertaken by the two of you.

Wow. That's definitely a roller-coaster of month+. I'm glad that Brian still has a job, despite how stressful it is. I pray that God will give you the guidance you both need to move forward and that he will open and close the appropriate doors! God Bless! 🙂

phew…. it's a good thing we have a God who knows everything. We can be assured that He is in control. I know it's sometimes hard, but He is always faithful… Always!
I will keep you and Brian in my prayers.. I do hope that God will reveal to you clearly whether you should go to seminaries or get a job.
